HIFF DAILIES — DAY TWO

We're still reeling from an incredible opening night! Thank you to everyone who came, and to Lina Rodriguez (So Much Tenderness) and Romanne Walker, Jonathan Carroll and Cat Bluemke of Plains for their generous and inspiring post-screening Q+As.

Now it's time for the first full day of HIFF 2023, with three more films and back-to-back afternoon Artist Talks on the way. Lina and Romanne will join us in the Light House this afternoon, each with an Artist Talk that will dive deep into their filmmaking processes. Admission is free!

This evening we get serious about screenings with a HIFF triple feature. First up at 6:30 p.m. is our Lei Lei Retrospective, which highlights the work of the incomparable Lei Lei and his jaw-dropping mastery of just about every conceivable animated technique. Up next at 8 p.m is Sol Berruezo Pichon-Riviére's sophomore feature, Our Happiest Days, a can't-miss, magical-realist family drama. We close out Day Two at 10 p.m. with our very special late-night screening of Residency, followed by a Q+A with New York-based filmmaker Winnie Cheung.

You can see it all with a HIFF Festival Pass ($40/$30 for AFCOOP members) or catch films with single tickets for $14 ($12 for AFCOOP members). Click the film listings below to purchase single tickets. All screenings are FREE for students (with a valid student ID)!
